Privacy
A short notice, in plain language, because there is little to declare.
Page counts
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying visitors. A self-hosted Umami instance on our own server in Switzerland counts them the same way, without cookies and without identifying anyone. There are no advertising pixels, and no other third party scripts apart from the spam check on the forms.
Heatmaps
If you allow it, the same self-hosted Umami records anonymous interaction, where you click and how far you scroll, with the contents of form fields masked and nothing recorded at all if you decline. You can change or withdraw your answer at any time with Recording preferences at the foot of every page; a withdrawal stops the recording at once.
In your browser
Your browser keeps your choice of light or dark theme and your answer about heatmaps. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.
Language
If you switch the language, a cookie called lang remembers it for a year, so the front page opens in the language you chose. It holds that choice and nothing else.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps short lived technical logs to operate and secure the site. They are not used to profile visitors.
Contact by email
If you write to us, we keep your message and our reply for as long as the matter requires. We do not pass it on.
Articles by email
If you sign up for articles, we keep your address, the language of the page and the time you agreed. We use them only to send you new articles, never more than once a month. You can unsubscribe at any time, and your address is then deleted.
Spam check
The contact form, the signup and Karin, the voice demo, use Cloudflare Turnstile to check, in your browser, that a person is sending them. It is used for nothing else.
Karin, the demo
If you talk or type to Karin in the voice demo, ElevenLabs processes the conversation so that she can listen and answer. Your voice is not recorded, and the transcript is deleted after thirty days. The work she shows in the background is simulated and touches no real system. An email address you type for her bill is used once to send it, and we do not store it.
Hosting
The site is hosted in Switzerland or the European Union. The provider is named here before the site goes live.

You may ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to the address below and we will answer.
