I write software for a living, and for the last few years most of it has been built with language models. I work at their speed, which is fast, and I hold the result to the standard I would want for my own firm: understood, reviewed, tested. Nothing leaves my desk that I cannot explain.
The workshops grew out of that work. Partners and their people kept asking what these tools would change for them, and a slide deck was never the answer. So I run days where people watch the work, then do it themselves, and leave with something written down.
Why this practice exists
The shift, closer to home.
AI is far more than the tools most people have met. A chat window that answers a question is the smallest part of it. The rest changes how much a firm can do with the people it already has.
A firm that grows with AI moves faster with fewer hands. That is the direction, and it is not slowing down.
So I bring it in carefully, one piece at a time, in a way the firm can absorb. The firm grows with it, and the people in it keep their standing. That is the whole point of the practice.
The question is not whether to use AI. It is who in the firm will learn to run it first.
